A trending server is gaining more player activity than is normal for that same server. It does not simply mean that the server is large or highly ranked.
What does Trending mean?
Farm Sim Game checks game-server activity every hour. The system looks for servers whose player activity has increased in a meaningful and sustained way. Each server is compared with its own usual activity. This gives small, medium, and large servers a fair opportunity to trend.
What information is used?
The system uses two kinds of activity information:- The average number of players online during the six most recently completed hours.
- The number of different players seen during the last 24 hours.
Player counts are the main part of the score. Growth in different players is used as a smaller supporting signal.
What is not used?
The following items do not improve a server's trending score:- Premium or supporter status.
- Featured status.
- Overall server ranking.
- Ratings or reviews.
- Profile views.
- The number of player slots the server has.
What must a server do to qualify?
Before a server can receive the Trending badge, it must meet all of these basic requirements:- The server must have been listed for at least seven days. This gives the system enough history for a fair comparison.
- It must average at least two online players during the recent six-hour period.
- It must have player activity during at least four of those six hours.
- Farm Sim Game must have enough recent and historical monitoring data to make a reliable comparison.
- Its trend score must reach 35 or higher during two hourly checks in a row.
How is the trend score calculated?
The score ranges from 0 to 100.Most of the score comes from growth in the average number of online players. A smaller part comes from growth in different players seen during the day. The score is also reduced when there is not enough monitoring data or when the number of active players is too small to provide confidence.
The score measures momentum, not total popularity. A busy server that stays at its normal activity may have a high overall ranking without being trending. A smaller server can trend when its activity grows well above its own normal level.
Why can the badge disappear?
Trending is temporary. Farm Sim Game recalculates it every hour.A server normally keeps the badge until its score falls below 25 during two checks in a row. Using separate entry and removal levels keeps the badge from appearing and disappearing because of a small hourly change.
If fresh calculations stop for more than three hours, the website will no longer show the server as trending.
How are the top servers selected?
Up to ten trending servers are shown at one time. Only the highest-scoring server from the same Discord community can hold a place in the list. This prevents one community with several game servers from filling the entire list. The website shows the current trending servers on the Game Server List. The Farm Sim Game Discord bot also posts the top trending servers once per hour.
What does the activity percentage mean?
The percentage beside a trending server shows how much its recent average player activity has increased compared with its normal average for similar hours. For example, +50% means the server's recent average is one-and-a-half times its usual average. It does not mean that the server is 50% full.
If the normal average was zero players, the list says New activity instead of showing a misleading percentage.
