Managing members
Find anyone in your community chat and change their roles, time them out, warn, kick or ban them, keep staff notes and link their game ids.
On this page
Every member of your community chat has a page your staff can open, like a member's page in a Discord server's settings.
Opening the member list#
Open your chat, click Chat settings and pick Members. Search by name, or use the chips to show only people with roles, who are timed out, banned, warned or have notes. Owners and people with roles are listed first. Click Manage next to someone to open their page.
Who sees Members: the community's owners and managers, and anyone whose chat roles include Manage roles, Time out members or Ban members. Each part of a member's page only shows what your roles let you do.
A member's page#
- Roles: tick the roles they should have and press Save roles. You can only give and take roles whose permissions you have yourself (needs Manage roles).
- Moderation (needs Time out members or Ban members):
- Time out: they can still read, but can't post anywhere in your chat, for 10 minutes up to a week.
Lift the timeout ends it early.
- Warn: they get a notice with the reason. Too many warnings time them out on their own, see
- Kick: takes them out of every channel. They can join again.
- Ban: keeps them out of every channel, takes their roles and stops them opening tickets or sending
applications, until you Unban them.
- Notes and history: notes are only for your staff, never shown to the member. Every timeout, warning, kick, ban, unban, role change and game id link is added here too, with who did it and the reason they gave. The person who wrote a note, owners and Administrators can delete it.
- Game ids: the players on your game servers that are this member. Find a player by their in-game name or game id and press Link; their playtime and sessions then show under My stats on your servers. Linking needs Game servers: edit in your staff role. Players show up once they've played on one of your servers.
Owners can't be moderated, and members who hold any chat permission can only be moderated by owners and Administrators.
Block or ban?#
- Block is for one player: anyone can block someone from a message in the chat, the member list or their profile. They stop seeing each other's messages in community chats, can't message each other and don't find each other in FarmLink. Nobody else is affected, and your staff aren't told.
- Ban is for your community: you don't want the person in your chat at all. Only staff with Ban members can ban, and it counts for everyone.
Banning someone who isn't in your chat#
On the member list, Ban someone who isn't in your chat takes their Farm Sim Game username (as shown on their profile). They can't join until you unban them from their member page.
