Adding your dedicated server links it to Farm Sim Game. Your server gets a public profile on
FarmSimGame.com and a spot in the server list, and the bot can post its status, players and
stats in your website chat and Discord. All it needs is your server's Link XML. You can add a
server with the step-by-step setup in Manage Community, or with the guided /server new setup in Discord.
Before you start#
- Sign in to FarmSimGame.com and make sure the community you want is your active one. You need a staff role that can change Game servers (owners and Discord server admins always can).
- For Discord alerts, the bot must be in your Discord server. See Add the bot to your server.
- Have your dedicated server's web interface open, so you can copy the Link XML (see below).
- How many game servers you can add depends on your supporter tier (see Game server limits).
Find your Link XML#
The Link XML is the address of your server's live stats feed. The bot reads it to see whether your server is online, who is playing and which mods are loaded.
This is the web interface for your Farming Simulator dedicated server, from your host's panel or your own machine.
Find the Link XML entry on the settings page.
It contains feed/dedicated-server-stats.xml?code= followed by your server's code.
On the same page, set Web API Interval [sec] to 60. Farm Sim Game checks servers every 60 seconds, so this keeps your stats current.
A Link XML is only accepted when:
- it includes the
feed/dedicated-server-statspath and acode=value; - it uses a public address that can be reached from the internet (not
localhost, a home network address like192.168.x.x, or0.0.0.0); - it isn't already used by another server on Farm Sim Game.
Replace 0.0.0.0 with the IP address or web address that's in your browser's address bar when
you're on your game server's web interface.
Set it up on the website#
Add a server opens inside your Manage Community dashboard. It starts with an overview of what your server gets and what to have ready, then five steps shown at the top of the page: Name & game, Connect, Listing, Discord alerts (or Website chat) and Farm stats, then a Done page with recommended next steps.
Go to Game servers in your Manage Community dashboard and click Add a server. Read the overview, then click Get started.
Enter a Server name, a Short name and, if you like, a Description, then click Create server and continue. This creates your server, so it already shows in Game servers from here on.
Pick the Game and paste your Link XML. FSG asks your game server for its stats straight away and shows what it found: its name, map, game version and players, or that it answered but is offline right now. Both are fine. Save and continue only works once your server has answered, and the game is set from what the server reports.
Pick the Specialties that fit, set the Server location, choose a Listing picture and add Links for players. All optional. Click Save and continue.
If you manage the community's Discord server, pick channels for Server online, Server offline, Player joins and Player leaves, and a voice channel or category for the Players online display. Leave any on Disabled to skip it. Everyone else gets Website chat: the server already has its own feed channel in your community chat, so there's nothing to pick. Click Save and continue (or Continue).
Choose how players get farm stats, add an optional extra question and, with Discord, a channel for claim alerts. Click Save and finish, or Skip for now.
Open your server page, or follow the recommended next steps: savegame scanning, website chat and Discord alerts, FarmLink, power controls and player stats.
Every step saves on its own. Once the server exists you can click any step at the top to go back to it, and everything is also on the server's edit page.

Every list has + Create a new channel… (see Creating channels). The server's Discord tab has many more options, including Premium ones, once your server is added.
Website chat#
Every game server gets its own feed channel in your community chat, with online and offline, players joining and leaving, mod changes and a pinned card with who's playing. The step shows the channel's name. Change where each alert goes on the server's Website chat tab.
Farm stats#
Players can link the farm they play on your server to their FSG account. Once their claim is in, the FSG app shows them that farm's stats. Under How should players get farm stats? pick one:
| Option | What happens |
|---|---|
| Each team runs its own farm | Players claim their farm. The first player on an empty farm gets in straight away, then the farm's team or a manager approves newcomers. One farm per player. This is selected by default. |
| Everyone plays one co-op farm | Players join the shared farm straight away and see all of its stats, tasks and team chat. |
| Staff approve every player | Players claim the farm they play and a manager checks each one before they see any stats. |
| Public drop-in server | Anyone signed in can follow a farm's stats. No approvals, team chat or profile badges. Money stays hidden. |
| Keep farm stats private | Players can't claim or follow farms here. You can turn it on any time. |
Every claim asks for the player's in-game name. Extra question for players is asked as well, if you set one (up to 150 characters), and with Discord the bot can post claims that need approval in a channel. Farms show up once FSG reads your savegame (turn on savegame scanning on the server's Listing tab, under Server Access and Savegame). More in Farm stats and claims.
Set it up in Discord with /server new#
You can also add a server without leaving Discord. /server new walks you through the same basics
in a series of private messages and pop-up forms.
The Discord guided setup is a newer feature and is still a work in progress. It sets up the basic, non-premium settings only. Use the website for images, Premium features and farm stats.
Type /server new in any channel. You'll see Farm Sim Game - New Game Server Setup. Click Start Setup.
Fill in Server Name, Server Short Name and, optionally, Server Description (up to 1,000 characters), then submit. Spaces in the short name become dashes. If the short name is taken, the last four digits of your Discord server ID are added to it, and the bot tells you.
Click Add Server URLs. Choose the game version under Which server game version? (FS25, FS22 or FS19), paste your Dedicated Server Link XML, and optionally add the mods, Discord invite and website links.
Pick your specialties from Select server specialties, or click Skip Specialties. A form opens for Country, State and City, all optional.
The bot asks for each channel in turn: Server Online Notifications, Server Offline Notifications, Player Join Notifications, Player Leave Notifications (text channels), then Players Online Display (a voice channel or category). Pick one, or click Skip This Step.
Game Server Setup Complete shows a link to your new server's profile. The voice channel won't update until a player joins your game server for the first time after setup.
If you stop part way, run /server new again. The bot finds your unfinished setup and offers
Resume Setup or Start New Setup. With more than one unfinished setup, pick the server to
resume from Select a server to resume setup.
Commands#
/server new Admins & command rolesCreate a new game server profile using guided setup.
/server new needs Administrator or a role allowed to use the server command (set in
Command roles). You also need the Manage Server permission, or the
bot replies "❌ You don't have permission to use that command."
Game server limits#
Each supporter tier allows a set number of game servers per Discord server:
| Tier | Game servers |
|---|---|
| Free | 1 |
| Bronze | 3 |
| Silver | 5 |
| Gold | 10 |
| Platinum | 25 |
| Diamond | Unlimited |
Game servers and the Add a server overview show a Game
Servers Used bar, like 1 / 1 used. At the limit, Add a server shows "You've used all the game
servers your tier includes" with a link to the supporter plans instead of the first step.
If your tier drops, your newest servers over the new limit are disabled: Game servers shows them as Disabled and the bot stops checking them until your tier covers them again. Servers added before 2 August 2026 are grandfathered in and never disabled. They also keep Bronze-level game server features. See Premium or Supporter Details.
Edit or delete your server later#
On Game servers, click the green pencil button next to a server to open its edit page
(/ManageCommunity/EditServer/ plus the server ID) inside your My Community dashboard. It has three tabs:
- Listing: the settings from Add a server, plus server access and savegame, scheduled restarts, emails and Link XML alerts.
- Website chat: which of the server's notifications post in your community's website chat, and where.
- Discord: what the bot posts in your Discord server (channels, Premium features, auto posts, the auto embed and more). Only the Discord server's admins see these settings; a community without Discord doesn't have them.
Use On this page (the jump menu on smaller screens) to go to a section of the open tab, and press Save changes in the bar at the bottom of the page when you're done. Changes can take a few minutes to show on the website and in Discord.
To remove a server, click Delete Dedicated Server at the bottom of the edit page. Type both codes shown in the window and click Delete Dedicated Server Profile. This deletes everything tied to the server, like player tracking, and can't be undone.
Troubleshooting#
Save and continue is greyed out after I paste the Link XML#
The red ✕ next to the field means the link wasn't accepted. The message under it says why:
- FSG couldn't reach this Link XML: your server's web interface didn't answer. Make sure it's running and reachable from the internet (not only from your home network), and that you copied the whole link.
- That address answered, but not with a Farming Simulator server feed: the link opens something else, like a login page. Copy the link under Link XML in your server's settings again.
- Invalid URL: Missing 'feed/dedicated-server-stats' path: you copied the wrong link. Copy the one under Link XML in your server settings.
- Invalid URL: Missing 'code' parameter: the end of the link is missing. Copy it again in full.
- Invalid URL: Must use a public address that can be reached from the internet: replace the local address with your public IP or web address.
- Link XML already in use on another server: that link is already on Farm Sim Game. Contact us if this is a mistake (see Contact support).
Continue is greyed out after I type the short name#
"Server Short Name is already in use" means someone has it. "Server Short Name is not Valid" means it doesn't start with a letter. Try another.
My server shows offline#
- Check the Link XML is current. It can change or expire, and your hosting panel may be down or rebooting. If the edit page shows We can't reach your server's Link XML., update it under Server Urls.
- Make sure the server is running and its web interface is reachable from the internet.
- Set Web API Interval [sec] to
60on your dedicated server. - See Server online and offline alerts for how the bot checks servers.
A channel is missing from the list#
The lists show the channels the bot last synced from Discord, grouped by category. Run /setup in
Discord, choose Update Channels and Roles for Website, then reload the page. Channels that
aren't inside a category don't appear, so move the channel into one.
Nothing is posted in Discord yet#
Most notifications only appear when something changes on your server, like a player joining or leaving or the server going online or offline. Give it a little time after setup.
